Congratulations to Phil Holmes for winning SUBBUTEOFEST21. Phil beat Simon Goodman on shots in a close final, played with flat figures. The event was visited by over 150 people during the day, bringing solo players, tournament players, stadium builders, painters and collectors together to celebrate our beautiful game.
A new Subbuteo Club was launched in August........in a Micropub and it was absolute bedlam. We turned a Tuesday into a Saturday. Check out this super video from Youbbuteo
The Derry open took place on Saturday in Northern Ireland. Organizers had great support for the tournament with 5 players travelling from England and 2 from Wales. in total 15 players were taking part. Tournament favourite, Elliot Bellefontaine, proved his high fee for playing in Austria with a well deserved win over Rudi Peterschinnig of Harrow in the final.
An exciting UK team event is planned for November, with club teams from England, Scotland, Wales, and now Gibraltar. English Subbuteo Association Vice Chairman Alan Lee also said it was hoped teams from the Irish Associations would also commit.

It was the 4th August 2016. I’d just finished my tea and was sitting merrily scrolling through the latest facebook nonsense, expecting to find nothing but maybe mild amusement. Little did I know that a few moments later, I’d be starting an amazing journey. One that would, so far, take me all over the country, to Northern Ireland, Scotland and Portugal and make countless new friends along the way.
BREAKING NEWS- Bristol Subbuteo Club and Manchester Table Football Club confirmed for the Wobbly Hobby League. There are now 11 Clubs confirmed for the team event to be held in Redhill, Surrey, on 13th/14th November.

It's not all about big tournaments and fancy stadiums! The Old Sods Subbuteo Club enjoyed their first meet for 252 days in May 2021. That’s right, 252 days! The pandemic has taken its toll on us all in one way or another, with a few members unable to attend due to shielding, others unable to travel long distances and some no longer able to play.
The ESA are delighted to announce that Mike Parnaby has rejoined the board as a Consultant. Mike started his interest in the game at the ripe old age of 13 in 1976. In 1978 Mike formed Stokesley SC '78, and this club has continued since but under different names, currently NETFA Brigantes.

Richard Pepper answers the Player Profile. One of the longest serving players in our generation, Richard Pepper has been playing Subbuteo since 1967. He provides a wonderful story of his passion for the game. He has also represented his country over the years.
