Our newest product, based on the iconic Grade A Listed Stand of Gala Fairydean Rovers FC at the Netherdale Sports Complex in Galashiels, Scotland.
Designed by British Modernist Architect Peter Womersley was built in 1963 and featured a unobstructed views across the playing area thanks to its V-sectioned vertical fins supporting the wedge-shaped stand and cantilevered canopy. The cantilevered canopy projects over the raised seating area and the ground floor of the building houses changing rooms and a club room. With its reliance on masses of poured concrete and hard angular elevations, the raw shuttering of the concrete, the powerful angular forms and the focus on cantilever and buttresses in tension are dominant. The stand was Grade A listed by Historic Scotland in late 2006.
