Chris Short Doubles Up in Andover as ESA Championship Circuit Heats Up

The English Subbuteo Association Championship Circuit rolled into Andover, Hampshire, on Sunday for Round 3 of the season, with 38 players battling it out in a fiercely contested event. A strong line-up featuring some of the country’s finest Subbuteo players ensured a day of high-quality flicking action.

At the end of a gripping competition, it was Chris Short who emerged victorious, securing his second championship win of the season with a commanding 3-1 victory over Kevin Cordell in the final. Short’s precision and attacking play proved decisive, as he added another trophy to his growing collection, strengthening his position in the championship standings.

Elsewhere, the Consolation Plate event saw Terry Arnold claim victory, overcoming Adam Jackson with a solid 2-0 performance.

Meanwhile, in the Shield competition, it was a dominant display from Malcolm Jamieson, who powered to a 5-1 win over club mate Roger Duckworth, capping off a fantastic day for his club.

In the youth category it was Jamie Warren who was the highest youth finisher of the day, where he came runner-up in the group stage with two wins and one loss, he went on to win his Barrage game but finally went out in the last 16
