The much anticipated format for this year’s Wobbly Hobby League, the UK and Ireland Club League has been announced.

The Format

DAY 1

Teams will be split into 4 groups – 3 groups of 5, and 1 group of 6. The pots are as follows, honouring the results of 2023:Pot 1 – Yorkshire Phoenix, Stanway Rovers, Harrow Hawks, White Star.Pot 2 – Cardiff Bluebirds, Glasgow A, Glasgow TF, Pedmore.Pot 3 – Wolverhampton, Kent Invicta, London & Surrey, Bristol. All other teams will be drawn randomly.

Teams will play all opponents in their group. This will take 9 Sessions. The matches will follow FISTF procedure.

The order of tiebreak for group placings is as follows: Points; Head-to-Head Winner; Overall Win Difference; Overall Wins For; Goal Difference in Head-to-Head.

The top 4 teams in each group will qualify to the main knockout on Day 2. The group placing will dictate the draw to incentivise good performance. The other 5 teams will enter the consolation event.

DAY 2

The Top 16 will enter a direct knockout competition. This will be played to exact placings – for example, a team that loses in the Last 16 will still have 3 more matches against opponents with the same record.

The 5 teams in the consolation event will enter a single group of 5 to decide 17th place and beyond.

Day 2 will have 9 sessions total. All teams are expected to stay and complete their placement matches until the tournament is complete. All teams will play 8 or 9 games across the weekend.

This year’s competion will also include a live draw tonight from the new venue in Flitwick. Schedules, fixtures and results can be found here throughout the weekend.

Doors to the venue open at 8am and the the competition starts at 9am. Good luck to everyone!!
